There will be free festive celebrations for Richmondites on the four Saturdays leading up to Christmas.
City hall, decorated with 30 Christmas trees for the 19th annual Winter Wonderland, will be the backdrop for a series of weekend musical performances.
Winter Wonderland is an initiative of Rotary Club of Richmond Sunset and each tree is sponsored by a business, organization or by individuals.
Visitors to city hall are invited to vote for their favourite tree and to bring a non-perishable food item for the Richmond food bank as well as to make a donation to the Rotary Club’s international and Richmond community programs.
The official tree lighting and opening ceremony will take place on Dec. 7 but musical performances are also scheduled for the week prior, on Nov. 30 starting at 1 p.m.
