A car owner has taken finding parking to a new level in Richmond.
In a photo posted on the Facebook group Richmond Learns to Park and Drive, a blue Toyota sedan was spotted parking on the sidewalk, directly under the Canada Line SkyTrain tracks near Parker Place.
Many have taken to the comment section to question why the vehicle was parked there. Some mentioned that there "must be an ATM nearby" while referring to previous incidents of cars parking on the pavement area outside the Richmond-Brighouse station, next to Scotiabank.
Others mentioned that the owner of the vehicle parked on the sidewalk may have have been looking for some shaded parking.
A Facebook user brought up a point that there were no "no parking" signs in the area either.
Community members are encouraged to contact the City of Richmond's bylaws team at 604-276-4345 when they see a parking violation on public property that isn't at a shopping mall or commercial property.
