This week celebrates Richmond residents over 55 years of age, and events are for everyone in the community.
National Seniors Day, observed on Oct. 1, is celebrated with a dance performance and two free social events from Thursday, Sept. 29 to Oct. 1.
The programs are as follows:
Thursday, September 29 – National Seniors Day Social
9 to 11 a.m. – Steveston Community Centre

3 to 4:30 p.m. – Minoru Centre for Active Living (Seniors Centre)
Enjoy this creative performance hosted by dance groups from the Minoru Seniors Society while socializing and meeting new people in the community. Event ID #170693.
The City of Richmond will also be displaying an annual Positive Aging Campaign that showcases positive images of seniors in the community.
This year’s campaign theme is “seniors building connection in the community” and highlights seven seniors who have inspired others, being active or making sure newcomers feel welcome in Richmond.
The campaign runs from Oct. 1 to 7 and can be viewed on the city website.
