A free car-free option for exploring around Richmond is back for summer.
From June 22 to Sept. 8, community members can take the Discovery Shuttle to get to popular tourist destinations around Richmond on weekends and statutory holidays.
Two different routes are available — the blue line, which travels between the Radisson Hotel and McArthurGlen Designer Outlet, and the yellow line, which covers the Executive Inn to the Britannia Shipyards National Historic Site.
The blue line is serviced by a wheelchair-accessible minibus, according to Tourism Richmond.
Meanwhile, the Steveston Bike Valet is also back for the warmer months to provide free and secure bike parking at the Gulf of Georgia Cannery National Historic Site parking lot.
The valet offers coat-check-style bike parking and is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekends and statutory holidays except for Canada Day on July 1, when it will be open from 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
To use the bike valet, community members simply need to ride their bike to the parking lot, where they will be given a claim stub. Staff will park the bikes in a secured area attended at all times.
Strollers, e-bikes and scooters are also welcome.
The Steveston Bike Valet is available from now until Sept. 8.
