Students and parents at an East Richmond school arrived at the sight of a burnt-down garden shed on Monday morning.
Richmond Fire-Rescue responded to a call of a fire at Hamilton elementary around 4:30 a.m. on Sept. 11.
Peter Tellis, acting deputy chief at Richmond Fire-Rescue, said firefighters found a 10 by 10 feet garden shed on fire when they arrived.
Water and foam were used to extinguish the fire with no fire damage beyond the shed, explained Tellis.
“The cause of the fire is still under investigation and no injuries were reported to staff or the public,” he added.
“We really want to continuously thank the public and those who call 911 and report any signs of fire.”
