Human remains found in east Richmond

RCMP are working to identify a body found in the Fraser River at the end of Williams Road.

Richmond RCMP is reporting that human remains were found on Monday off the shore of an industrial area in Richmond.

Richmond RCMP received a report on Monday around noon of possible human remains in the water where Williams Road meets the Fraser River, east of No. 6 Road.

When police arrived, the body was located.

Richmond RCMP is working with the BC Coroners Service to identify the remains and determine the circumstances that led to the person's death.

The investigation is in the early stages.
