New location secured in Steveston for Super Grocer's pharmacy

The pharmacy is waiting for a business licence from the City of Richmond.

Super Grocer's pharmacy is hoping to be up and running in Steveston within four to six weeks.

A sign has been posted at #130-3591 Chatham St. announcing the pending re-opening of the pharmacy that was located inside Super Grocer & Pharmacy before it burned down on Jan. 26.

Pharmacy manager Cecille Chui said they are currently applying to the City of Richmond for a business licence for the new location and then they need to apply to the College of Pharmacists for a licence before they can open up.

Chui said they miss their customers, but they are delivering medications from their Ackroyd Road location.

She added she hopes the city will hurry with the business licence so they can get in as soon as possible.

Last week, the burnt-out site of Super Grocer & Pharmacy still hadn't been cleared.

On its website, supergrocer.ca, it states the investigation into the cause of the fire is on-going, however, it adds "while the investigation for the cause and origin of the fire is on going, we do not have insurance coverage."

The post continues to say they would like to rebuild but that might take "several years."
