Personalized hot pot coming to Richmond

Big Way offers up to 100 ingredients for customers to choose from to customize their hot pot meals

A popular restaurant chain known for its personalized self-serve hot pots is set to open in Richmond.

Big Way Hot Pot, which has two locations in Burnaby, will open a third location at No. 3 Road and Alderbridge Way on July 1.

Unlike traditional hot pot, Big Way offers up to 100 ingredients of meats, seafood and vegetables – all on a massive display – and over 10 broths and dry mix for customers to choose from to customize their hot pot meals.

The restaurant also has a large selection of bubble tea. Food is charged by weight and customers get a free ice cream at the end of the meal.

Big Way’s unique model has created a large following and the brand is planning to open another location in Vancouver.

The brand has already made an appearance in Richmond as part of the Richmond Night Market this summer.

Previously at Big Way’s Richmond location was New Link College, which recently closed.
