Mounties are looking for help in identifying a suspected credit card thief.
On June 28, Richmond RCMP received a report from a resident that some mail had been stolen. A woman called police saying she'd been waiting for a replacement credit card to arrive, but that she never received it.
And when the woman called the credit card company to ask where her card was, she was told that her replacement card had already been activated.
Investigators determined the woman's mailbox was broken into at her apartment complex earlier in June. Surveillance footage has since been obtained from an ATM where the victim's credit card was used. More than $8,000 in charges were placed on the credit card and police are hoping someone will recognize the male captured at the ATM.
Anyone that is able to identify the male in the photo is asked to please contact Const. Lehoux at 604-278-1212, or call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477.
