On Monday evening, over 2,000 BC Hydro customers in Richmond had their lights shut off.
The outage is affecting the area north of Blundell Rd, east of No. 6 Rd, west of Boundary Rd and south of Marine Way, according to BC Hydro’s website.
BC Hydro also stated the cause of the outage was due to a fire.
Power has been off since 6:00 p.m. and affects 2,298 customers in the New West and Richmond area.
Crews are currently on site, and BC Hydro estimates the power will be back on around 7:45 p.m.
