Richmond driver caught going 144km/h on Highway 91

A driver was caught speeding in an 80km/h zone in Richmond.

A driver was caught going almost double the speed limit in Richmond last month.

Richmond RCMP stopped a driver going 144 km/h in an 80 km/h zone on Highway 91 on June 17 as part of the police's increased traffic enforcement this summer.

The driver was fined $483 and received a seven-day vehicle impoundment.

"Excessive speeding puts us all at risk," posted Richmond RCMP on X.

Police are reminding all drivers to "slow down and respect posted speed limits" to make the road safer for everyone.
