Richmond RCMP are looking for witnesses and dash cam footage of a two-vehicle collision on Sunday evening after a motorcyclist was sent to the hospital.

Police were called to the 3200 block of River Road near the Middle Arm Trail and Terra Nova Rural Park shortly before 9 p.m. on July 14, according to Richmond RCMP's media release.

Witnesses told police a Black Kawasaki motorcycle travelling eastbound on River Road collided with a westbound white 2021 Audi Q8 turning left into a residential driveway.

"The motorcyclist suffered significant injuries and was transported to a local area hospital," said Richmond RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Adriana O'Malley.

"He remains in hospital and is in stable condition."

Police suspect speed is a likely factor in the collision and Richmond RCMP's criminal collision investigation team is in charge of the investigation, which remains active and ongoing.
