Parents and guardians are invited to the Richmond RCMP's annual Car Seat Clinic on Thursday, Aug. 15 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The event will be held in the parking lot by the north entrance of the Lansdowne Centre in collaboration with ICBC and BCAA.

Richmond RCMP Cpl. Adriana O’Malley reiterated the importance of this initiative.

“Our goal is to ensure that every child in Richmond travels safely,” stated O’Malley. “Our Car Seat Clinics provide an excellent opportunity for caregivers to receive expert advice and hands-on training to properly install and use car seats.”

Initiated by the RCMP in 2022, the Child Passenger Safety Program aims to educate parents and caregivers about the proper use of child car seats, providing them with peace of mind.

Officers and volunteers will conduct 30-minute personalized car seat audits on-site, ensuring safety standards and correct installation considering the child’s characteristics.

Due to high demand, those interested in attending should register by calling 604-207-4761 on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
