Steveston Outdoor Pool has opened for the summer, with new operating hours.
The pool is now open for 55-minute public or length swims on weekends, as well as length-only swims on Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays until the end of September, according to the City of Richmond.
There’s also public swim time during afternoons on both weekdays and weekends.
Steveston pool was discussed several times at council in recent weeks, before councillors decided on the new operating hours which balance pool use between public swims, length swims, the Kigoos Swim club and school district rentals.
Due to COVID-19, people must pre-register in order to swim at the pool. This can be done either online or by phone, at 604-276-4300. Pool schedules are available online.
The spray and water play areas at King George, Burkville and Steveston are also now open, while Dixon is set to “start shooting streams of H2O” by the end of the month, according to the city.
Meanwhile, South Arm Outdoor Pool will reopen on Monday, July 5.
