Richmond RCMP is investigating an incident where a man was found injured in a parking lot on Monday afternoon.
Police responded to a call of an "unresponsive" man in the 7000 block of Alderbridge Way, near the Richmond Curling Club, just before 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 17.
The man was taken to hospital and is in critical but stable condition, according to Richmond RCMP Cpl. Adriana O'Malley.
She added the RCMP's general investigation team is actively investigating the cause of the man's injuries, but based on current inspection, they do "not believe there is a risk to the public."
RCMP are aware of posts on social media about the investigation, said Sgt. Gene Hsieh, Richmond RCMP Major Crime Commander.
“We want to assure the public that we are actively investigating this incident, including retracing the man’s whereabouts prior to him being discovered in the parking lot," Hsieh said. "We are asking anyone who may have seen this man to contact Richmond RCMP.”
The injured man is described as a 43-year-old Caucasian male, 185 pounds, six feet tall with blond hair and blue eyes.
He was wearing blue jeans, an olive drab bomber-style jacket, a black baseball cap with a "Beer Worx" logo and black runners with stripes.
The Richmond RCMP investigation is active and ongoing.
