Power can be seen returning to most areas in Richmond after thousands of BC Hydro customers across the city were without power.
BC Hydro crews are still on-site at several locations (see list below).
Outages were spread across most of the southern and western portions of the city, according to BC Hydro.
As of close to 3 p.m., a tree and wires are down on No. 6 Road, blocking traffic in both directions between Blundell Road and Westminster Highway.
A number of parks and facilities are also closed due to the wind storm.
Environment Canada issued a wind warning for most of Metro Vancouver this morning, with winds expected to hit up to 50 to 70 kilometres per hour, and gusts up to 90 kilometres per hour near the water.
The winds will continue throughout the afternoon and ease this evening.
