No injuries were reported during last night's brush fire but the cause remains unknown.
Thick smoke could be seen in Richmond's skies on Monday evening due to a fire inside a forest area along Highway 91.
Video footage submitted by Richmond News reader Lorena Dominguez shows a fire blazing in the forest area along eastbound Highway 91 just past Shell Road. The forest area is also north of Richmond Nature Park.
Firetrucks were also spotted along Highway 91. Crews on site had quickly limited the fire's growth before extinguishing it, said Richmond Fire-Rescue Acting Deputy Chief Grant Wyenberg.
Eastbound traffic on Alderbridge Way was reportedly redirected to southbound Shell Road.
A fire investigator will try to determine the cause this morning.
