Videos: Santa calls Richmond RCMP after Rudolph's injury

Free donuts convince Grinch to make donation to annual Richmond RCMP Toy Drive

When the lead reindeer sprains his hoof just a month before Christmas, Santa has no choice but to turn to Richmond RCMP for a favour.

A video posted online shows Richmond RCMP receiving a call from Jolly Old Saint Nick, who explains that Rudolph's sprained hoof will mean some homes in Richmond might be missed on Christmas.

Santa asked the local police to help collect presents so children and everyone on the nice list could still get their gifts this holiday season.

Richmond RCMP officers commandeered a private plane at YVR to spread the word and encourage the community to donate toys in the annual RCMP Toy Drive this Saturday.

Meanwhile, Richmond Fire-Rescue contacted the Grinch, hoping he would make a generous donation to help out.

As expected, the Grinch refused the moment he heard the word "donation."

However, he changed his mind when he learned that everyone who donates a new, unwrapped toy or at least $10 gets a free bag of mini donuts.

"Who knows, maybe this donation could change my entire life," said the Grinch in the video.
