Two athletes from Richmond Rod and Gun Club's archery division competed and medalled at several competitions in June.

Archer Raymond Huang brought home three gold medals at competitions held across North America.

Huang competed in the barebow category at the SoCal Showdown competition from June 7 to 9 in Chula Vista, Calif., as well as the Canada Cup East held from June 21 to 23 at Caledon, Ont.

His final competition was the B.C. 3D Provincial Championships from June 28 to 30 in Quesnel, B.C. ending his victorious gold medal streak last month.

Meanwhile, Greg Moore brought home silver from Canada Cup West which happened from June 7 to 9 in Winnipeg, Man.

He also competed against four-time Olympian Crispin Duenas in a shoot-out during the semifinals at the Canada Cup East in Caledon, Ont. from June 21 to 23

Mike Thorne, president of the Richmond Rod and Gun Club, said the club's high level of success in archery at provincial, national and international stages has elevated the club's global recognition.

"We are not just showing up at these tournaments as a competitor, but we are showing up as the club to try and beat," said Thorne.
