After a terrific 2015-16 campaign, Richmond FC are off to a sizzling start.
The U16 girls Metro League team captured gold at the Summer Sizzler Tournament in Chilliwack.
With few substitutes available and playing up in the U18 division, Richmond fought hard to defeat Penticton in the championship game.
Coached by Brent Branker and Sean Lawson, the girls open Metro League regular season play this weekend.
If the passionate play in the tournament is any indication, Richmond FC should have a successful run for a second consecutive spot at the Provincial “A” Cup Championships. The locals also advanced to the Coastal “A” Cup final last May.
