Simon Fraser University's Chris Crisologo was one of eight student-athletes selected to the NCAA Division II PING All-America Third Team by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). The senior becomes the first Clan golfer to earn All-American recognition in each of his four seasons with the program.
In 2015 following his freshman campaign, the Richmond, BC native earned a spot on the All-America Second Team followed by a Third Team selection in 2016. Crisologo then became a First Team All-American, the first in program history, in recognition for his outstanding junior season in 2017.
"The recognition from the GCAA validates Chris' strong results on the golf course," said SFU golf head coach Matthew Steinbach. "Behind the scenes I know the tireless effort that made it all possible and I'm very happy Chris received this honour in his final year. We will certainly miss Chris on the golf course next season but I'm excited to see what's next for him in his golf career."
The three-time Great Northwest Athletic Conference Player of the Year, and four-time All-Conference First Team honouree, led the league with a 70.9 stroke average this season. Crisologo finished tied for 26th at the NCAA Division II Super Regional in May and had seven top-five finishes over the course of his senior season. He finished his SFU career with seven individual wins and was named Lorne Davies Male Athlete of the Year at the 2018 SFU Athletic Awards.
Crisologo became the youngest member of Canada's national amateur squad last October and earned his first victory with Team Canada at the South American Amateur Open.
