The 2017-18 season is already off to a fantastic start for Richmond Ringette’s talented U19A team.
Richmond made it back-to-back tournament victories with a gold medal finish at the Spirit of Winter Tournament in the Fraser Valley last weekend. An undefeated run was capped by a 6-3 victory over the Calgary Mavericks.
A week earlier, Richmond travelled to Edmonton where it reached the top of the podium at the Silver Ring Tournament. Another perfect run was completed with a 7-4 triumph over Calgary Red.
Coach Troy Takasaki is very impressed with his team’s strong early season play. In his 18 years of coaching he has never won gold medals in back-to-back tournaments. This is also the first gold medal that a Richmond team he has coached has won in Alberta.
