The winners and runner-ups of the annual Miss Chinese Vancouver Pageant, organized by Fairchild Television, were announced last Thursday at Richmond's River Rock Show Theatre.
Shania Fu won the 30th Miss Chinese Vancouver Pageant on Nov. 28 and will represent Vancouver at the Miss Chinese International Pageant in 2025.
Fu, who was born in Vancouver, also received the Brian Jessel BMW Outstanding Intelligence Award.
Marina Yu and Olivia Zou were named first and second runner-ups, respectively.
This year's eight contestants, aged 19 to 25, were chosen as the finalists for this year's beauty pageant and took part in a three-month intensive training program before they stepped on stage for the grand finale.
The event opened with a group performance by the contestants, followed by individual introductions and a talent showcase.
Performances included hula hoop routines, singing and dancing, painting, quick-change acts and sword dance.
Contestants also answered questions on social and worldwide issues.
The special tribute to the 30-year history of the Miss Chinese Vancouver Pageant saw contestants wear iconic stage costumes worn by past pageant champions, paying homage to the pageant's history and celebrating its legacy.
