The Richmond Therapeutic Riding Association (RTRA) recently opened its new, $100,000 outdoor riding ring.
The association has been raising money for the last year or so for the facility at Twin Oaks Farm on No. 3 Road.
The object of the new outdoor riding ring is to allow the RTRA to expand its therapeutic riding program for children and youth with special needs.
It will also give the staff and volunteers more flexibility in the services that they can offer.
The new ring was made possible by generous donations from the Y.P. Heung Foundation and Townline Homes.
The RTRA has, for the last 20 years, been providing a therapeutic riding program for children and youth with disabilities in order to promote physical, social and psychological well-being.
They are always looking for new volunteers. If you’re interested in volunteering, donating or suggesting a horse to join the program you can call the office at 604 241 7837 or email [email protected].
