A car caught on fire in Richmond late Thursday night.

A car was seen bursting into flames in a Richmond neighbourhood late Thursday night.

In a video posted on Reddit, a car was up in flames in the middle of a residential street with a firefighter attempting to put the fire out.

Richmond RCMP officers responded to a call regarding the fire at the 11500 block of Seahurst Road, near Steveston Highway and No. 5 Road, shortly before midnight on Oct. 17.

"Richmond Fire-Rescue was already on scene but the two complainants advised the driver of the vehicle had allegedly struck three other vehicles prior to his vehicle catching fire," said Cpl. Adriana O'Malley, spokesperson for the Richmond RCMP.

Officers began an impaired investigation "based on their observation" when they got to the scene.

The driver was issued a 90-day immediate roadside prohibition and his vehicle was impounded.

No one was injured in the incident.
