If you have ideas as to what the new $90-million Steveston community centre and library should look like, the city wants to hear them -- before Tuesday.
The City of Richmond is asking the public to share their vision of the facility’s exterior design by participating in an online survey.
“Council has approved the program, site location and floor plans for the new facility, as well as a budget of $90 million to complete the design and construction of the facility. Development of the character design is the next major step in the facility’s development,” read the website.
The Richmond News earlier reported that the new community centre portion would be approximately 48,000 square feet, which is about 15,000 square feet larger than the existing centre and the new library will be three times the size of the current one.
The new centre will also have two gymnasiums, almost tripling in size with room for spectators.
Scott Construction has been chosen as the builder and HDR Architecture will design the rebuild of the Steveston Community Centre and library.
Both public and stakeholder feedback will be considered for the proposed design of the new facility. Click here to participate in the online survey.
