A roofing company has been given a fine of $5,000 for an unsafe worksite in Richmond.

B.C. No. One Roofing Ltd. was re-footing a house when a WorkSafeBC inspector saw three works on an 8:12 sloped roof with no fall protection.

WorkSafeBC said in its report the lack of safety exposed workers to a fall risk of up to 6.1 meters.

The firm was fined on Sept. 13 for failing to ensure fall protection was used, a repeated and high-risk violation.
