The case of a fatal Massey Tunnel crash that killed a 61-year-old Richmond woman will not be resolved until next year.
On Monday morning, a Richmond Provincial Court judge was told the sentencing for Sundeep Singh Mann would be adjourned until next February.
Mann was originally scheduled to be sentenced on Dec. 11 but Crown and defence informed the judge they had applied for a new sentencing date. Mann was not present in the courtroom.
Mann was originally charged with six counts including impaired driving and dangerous driving in relation to a crash that took place shortly after midnight on Sept. 2, 2020.
A 61-year-old Richmond woman who was driving a vehicle northbound in the Massey Tunnel was hit head-on by a southbound vehicle that crossed the centre line.
Her passenger was sent to the hospital with serious injuries.
Mann pleaded guilty on July 21 to one count of dangerous operation causing death and one count of dangerous operation causing bodily harm.
Mann will return to Richmond Provincial Court on Feb. 23, 2024 for his sentencing hearing.
